Private Wine Tours from San Diego

The wine country that San Diego actually drives to is Valle de Guadalupe, about two and a half hours south. It's a serious region — and one where a private chauffeur isn't a luxury add-on but the thing that makes the day work.

How a private wine tour is structured

We collect you in San Diego in the morning, drive south, and the vehicle and chauffeur stay with your group for the entire day — through each winery, lunch, and the drive home. There's no per-stop meter and no scramble for a ride between properties. A realistic day is three to four wineries with a proper lunch; five is possible but rarely enjoyable.

  • Full-day private charter with a designated chauffeur
  • Vehicle stays with your group between every stop
  • Chilled water and somewhere to leave jackets and purchases
  • Sprinter for up to 14, SUVs for smaller parties

Choosing wineries

Valle de Guadalupe spreads across a wide valley on largely unpaved roads, so a good itinerary is sequenced by geography — not by a wish list in random order. Many properties are appointment-only and take their own reservations; we'll tell you clearly which ones you'll need to book yourself. If you don't have a list, tell us what you drink and we'll suggest a route we know works.

Lunch in the valley

The valley's restaurants are a genuine reason to go, and several of the best need reservations well in advance. Build lunch into the middle of the day rather than treating it as an afterthought — it's also the sensible way to pace a day of tastings. Tell us where you've booked and we'll sequence the wineries around it.

Day trip or overnight

A day trip from San Diego is long but entirely doable. An overnight at a valley hotel is better if you want dinner without watching the clock, and we'll hold the vehicle for a next-day return. Either way, the return leg is already reserved before you leave.
