San Diego to Valle de Guadalupe Transportation

Valle de Guadalupe is Mexico's most serious wine region, and it is not a place to self-drive after tastings. The roads between wineries are largely unpaved, the properties are spread across a wide valley, and the whole point is to be able to drink what you're poured.

A designated chauffeur for the whole day

This is the core of the service. Your chauffeur stays with the group from San Diego pickup through every winery and back — not a drop-off and a phone number. Between tastings the vehicle is your base: chilled water, climate control, somewhere to leave jackets and bottles you've bought.

  • Full-day charter rather than a point-to-point transfer
  • Vehicle stays with your group between wineries
  • Space for cases of wine on the return leg
  • Sprinter for groups up to 14, SUVs for smaller parties

Planning the itinerary

Most valley wineries take reservations and many are appointment-only, so a good day is three to four properties with a long lunch, not a race through eight. Tell us the wineries or restaurants you want and we'll sequence them by geography so you're not crossing the valley twice. If you don't have a list, tell us what you like to drink and how much time you have — we drive this valley constantly and can suggest a route. We'll say plainly what we can and can't reserve on your behalf.

The drive from San Diego

The route runs south through the border, down the coastal highway past Rosarito, then inland toward the valley — or via the Tecate crossing depending on where you're starting and what conditions look like. Plan on a full day. Many guests stay overnight at a valley hotel and have us return the following afternoon, which turns a rushed itinerary into a genuinely relaxed one.

How booking works

Send your pickup and drop-off, date, time and passenger count through the quote form or by phone. You get a flat, all-in figure back before anything is confirmed — no metered fares and no surge pricing. Once you approve it, the vehicle and chauffeur are held for your time slot and you receive written confirmation with your driver's details.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you provide transportation from San Diego to Valle de Guadalupe?+

Yes — full-day private charters with a chauffeur who stays with your group throughout the valley.

Can you plan the winery itinerary for us?+

We'll help sequence a route and suggest properties based on what you like. Many wineries require their own reservations; we'll tell you clearly which ones you need to book yourself.

How many people can you take?+

Up to 14 in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Smaller groups travel by Yukon Denali, Escalade or Suburban.

Is it a day trip or an overnight?+

Both work. A day trip is a long day; an overnight in the valley with a return the next afternoon is more comfortable and lets you enjoy dinner properly.

Can we bring wine back with us?+

There's ample room in the vehicle. Personal import allowances are set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and you should check their current rules — that's not something we can advise on.
