What a CBX ride is — and what it is not

A CBX ride is a domestic U.S. transfer between your San Diego-area address and the CBX terminal at Otay Mesa. The car does not cross the border. A ride that continues to the Tijuana Airport terminal curb or anywhere in Tijuana is a cross-border vehicle trip, priced and planned as one.

  • CBX drop-off: U.S. side, you walk the bridge to TIJ
  • CBX pickup: we meet you on the U.S. side after you cross back
  • TIJ curb or Tijuana address: a cross-border vehicle ride
  • Choose which one you need when you request your quote

Planning pickup time around your flight

Tell us your airline, flight number and departure time, and the time you want to arrive at CBX. You decide how early to arrive based on your airline's guidance and CBX's own instructions; we confirm a pickup time from your address that fits it. We do not promise traffic or terminal processing times.

Luggage and passenger planning

CBX travelers often carry more than a weekend bag. Send passenger, checked bag, carry-on and stroller counts so we can recommend an SUV for smaller parties or the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for groups. Child seats are available on request at $30 per seat.

Arriving through CBX

For northbound arrivals, share your flight number. After landing you clear the CBX process and walk back across to the U.S. side; your chauffeur coordinates by phone and drives you to your San Diego, Southern California or SAN Airport destination.

How booking works

Send your pickup and drop-off, date, time and passenger count through the quote form or by phone. You see an itemized price — fare, 20% gratuity and any add-ons such as child seats — before anything is confirmed, with no metered fares or surge pricing. Online reservations are paid in full through secure checkout; once paid, the vehicle and chauffeur are held for your time slot and you receive written confirmation.

Questions

Does a CBX ride cross the border?+

No. CBX is on the U.S. side in Otay Mesa. We drop you at the terminal and you walk across the CBX bridge to Tijuana Airport with your own CBX ticket, boarding pass and travel documents.

Can you take me to the Tijuana Airport curb instead?+

Yes. That is a cross-border vehicle ride into Mexico and is quoted as a cross-border trip. Tell us which you need when booking.

Do I need a CBX ticket?+

CBX bridge access is purchased separately from CBX and is not part of our ride. Check CBX's current requirements before you travel.

How early should I arrive at CBX?+

Follow your airline's and CBX's guidance. Tell us the time you want to arrive and we will set the pickup time from your address around it.

Can you pick me up at CBX after my flight?+

Yes. Share your flight number; your chauffeur coordinates with you after you cross back to the U.S. side.
